Take the next positive step

When God had laid it on our hearts to adopt several years ago.  We looked at various agencies and opportunities to adopt looking for that "right fit".  After 5 years or so, we finally got that "feeling" that a small, special needs Chinese boy was ours to pursue.  Knowing that we didnt have the cash in the bank for such an endeavor, we prayed and felt like we were just supposed to take the next positive step and let God make the way. With not a penny in the budget for this and a long road ahead, we agreed to "take the next positive step" and as long as doors kept opening we would keep pursuing.  The first door that opened was that age limits were lifted (Russell was over the age limit).  Then, China made an exception, and let us pursue 2 boys at the same time.  Door after door has opened and we continue to take that next positive step that we know how to take. We adopted "take the next positive step" as our motto and many times it has inspired us during the bleaker moments.  We stay motivated by the fact that there are 2 boys half way across the world who are longing for a home, family and somebody to take a personal interest in their lives.  Those are the things that we have been blessed with in life and we welcome the opportunity to do the same for these children.

Sometimes we feel like we are in way over our head, but we know the One who led us here will not leave us or forsake us so we keep going. We are getting down to it!  Dossiers are due to China by July 15th.  We are "up against the wall" with fees that are now coming due.  With $35,000 of expenses to finish out the adoptions, $7500 of which is immediately upon us...as in yesterday!  This after we've already completed over $15,000 of the expenses. While we have no idea where that money is coming from at this point, we will continue to "take the next positive step" on our journey and leave the rest to the One who got us this far!

So today, rather than freak out, we look at each other and say, "JUST TAKE THE NEXT POSITIVE STEP"!  We'll let you know tomorrow what that was! Until we talk again...
